Show Notes

Most of us have dealt with depression to a certain degree, either personally or through a friend or family member. Often there is a chemical imbalance which may be the source of the depression, and it is so common to feel “sad” or down and out, even depressed when going through the illness or death of a friend or loved one. But what do you when you just can’t get rid of those feelings, and seemingly have no current reason or situation for which to remain depressed. I recently went out of state to say good-bye to a loved one who had chosen to not have life-sustaining measures taken. But then she changed her mind. She had no idea as her illness progressed she would have no food, except that given in her stomach tube, no ability to speak or write or text, and she had made no friends and had no other family to come visit her. It certainly made me re-think the specifics of my will and end of life directive. For some of us, the end will be better than the beginning and we will not only have new life – but life eternal!
